XK Remote : ebay + re-program ?

Well, need a new remote/electronic key for the XK.

One dealer has quoted £250 for it + programming (original dealer never replied to emails .... hmm).

These are available new on fleabay for £50 or so - I assume a dealer can reprogram one of those just as easiy?

Hi ,
I have an XJ8 which, I believe uses the same or very similar system as the XK. The actual key with a transponder in does need to be programmed by the dealer, BUT the remote can be done easily by you yourself. It's not too complicated, and I wrote a piece for the Jag Enthusiasts mag about it and have put it on my own web site too.
