What's the crack with dealers posting up new car adverts in the PH classifieds for cars they sold yonks ago?

Is there not a 'wanted' section?

I've been looking at e46 M3's for a while now and the same old faces are popping up and being listed for an hour or two only to read 'Sorry now sold but more required'

I know the world won't stop turning and its not that big a deal but it seems to be spreading as more and more are at it and its a bit irritating.

Cool story bro etc etc

Presumably you saw the original advert when the car was first available for sale and discounted it.

So what's the problem?

Ignoring the irritation of having a saved/notified search dropping a mail in your inbox, or spotting it and momentarily thinking it's fresh, have you never browsed a classified ad before you were ready to buy?

Yes I have.

And if the same car pops up again as sold I think "Oh look, it's sold" and move on.

Have to agree. Ironically looking at exactly the same model. A certain dealer has several listed but then you realise they are all down as sold.

If it was just one advert your point would have more weight. Can be quite annoying when you find that 30% plus of the ads for a given model are 'Sorry, now sold'. Add in dealers block listings and whole pages of ads can be a waste of time.

Suppose its helpful in that it reminds me who not to do business with as I my gut tells me the ads wouldn't be the only way those dealers would be likely to annoy me
