Not sure if you guys allow anything as trivial as a spotted in your orderly forum, but.....

I was stopped at a roundabout and there it was, next to me. It looks AWESOME on the road. Off it went, wasn't in the Tiv so couldn't keep up.

I was just about to wind the window down when the driver opened the taps. Fan-bleeding-fantastic sound! And 100 yards off with my windows up! I'm not into the whiney screechy sound 'rarris make, much prefer the deep bass TVR exhaust but this car was pure Le Mans class.

Sorry, I just had to share

Cheers,

Andy.

Nice one.

I miss the noise of my Chim on sports exhausts sometimes, but then i go outside and fire up my 993 with RSRs and that sounds wonderful. :-)
Not quite a Carrera GT though.

Would have preferred to see the Carrera GT when I saw the McClaren SLR leaving Richmond out on the M3 early yesterday morning and by chance there he was again as I pottered home at about 7:30 pm.

It looked grotesque in my opinion, all flutes and vents signifying nothing. A car celebrating ornamentation is not a car in my opinion - he was driving cautiously too, and in a £300K + car who wouldn’t so how does one ever enjoy such things ?

Carrera GT is the business and a Swedish friend of min has one coming in 2 months and will fly out for passenger ride in it :-)

Carrera GT's are monster machines and not to mention gorgeous looking. Saw one going round Oulton Park not long ago.

I still dont know why JC put it on the 'uncool' section on topgear tho

because he is a plonker.

One week "its the best car ever ever ever...never felt like this before in my life " etc.etc.

The next "its shit".

I find myself automatically thinking the opposite to virtually everything he says.

It stems from a strange think I observed a few years back. On an episode of top gear a few years back, they did a large group test on Roadsters. Included the boxter, elise, mr2 etc.

He rated the MGF as the best car. Im serious.

Then 3 weeks later at the Birmingham Motorshow, he stood up on stage and said the MGF was a "blobby fat wobbly pile of poo"

Either he is schizophrenic or its a backhander job.

He's good for a laugh, but does any one really take him seriously? I don't even think he's expecting anyone to! He is funny to watch though, as a light hearted entertainment, he's great.

I agree, but then again as Butzi said "he's funny to watch, as a light hearted entertainment, he's great."

I think Hammond is the only one with his head screwed on properly

Back to the Carrera GT topic. Saw one pounding round the Dubai Autodrome at the same time as an Enzo, and I have to say the Enzo sounded lame in comparison.

Well, it was loud, but so's a Jap rally rep with an exhaust the size of the Chunnel. It wasn't a special sound, just a raucous bellow throughout the rev range.

The Carrera GT on the other hand was a cultured growl rising to a metallic howl - sounded as a race car should, aurally very pleasant despite the loudness.
