Very surprised to find no postings given our post service normally rubbish. Pretty much all models from 07 and version 2 of the recall.
Mine was booked in already for minor other stuff - unopening fuel cap , rubbish radio etc so saves too much hassle but just a little surprised at a throttle pedal lever being of such poor quality !

Pearl is booked in next Tuesday. I 'm afraid recalls are a fact of life. Manufacturers only need one potential failure then the panic button is pushed, every car that they think could be affected is recalled. I believe it is called Product Liability. Personally I applaud AM for taking swift action. In nearly 3 years of owning Aston Martins this is the first actual recall that I am aware of.

It would be interesting for the major car producers to publicise all their recalls, the public would be very surprised.

My VIN starts SCFE and ends 1359 so not in the range for recall at either end of the VIN.

The recall also includes those newer cars which only had the pedal replaced this year as part of the previous recall. So I get 2 new accelerator pedals in 5 months of ownership :-)
Good on them to just go do it though

Hi V12woollie
Not sure. My VIN also starts with SCFE , however I got a recall notification from my dealer. IIRC you have to look at the last 8 digits/letters whether those are within the VIN range indicated above.

My last four aren't in the range so the last eight won't be either. Mine is a V12V and is number 1359 in the series. Have any V12Vs been recalled as I'd assume the last four digits of the VINS would start 0001 to a few past 1359 which is outside the range given on the recall notice?

Letter doesn't mention V12s upon closer reading.

Is your VIN within the range on the recall notice? I think mine was manufactured towards the end of April so may fall outside the date range but if one cannot go by the VIN range then I think I'll be proactive and call the dealer.

Is the recall letter from the factory or sent from the dealer?

The letter was completely unclear.

It specifically mentioned my VIN but the list of models the recall covers doesn't include the V12 Vantage. rolleyes

Anyway, the dealer has confirmed that it does need to be done on my car.

Lot of fuss about nothing as usual. No need to worry your throttle is not going to jam open or anything similar. On the very best of authority I have been told all that happens is your accelerator pedal snaps off ! eek

I got the recall letter now. Just need to find time to take the car in. Supposed to only take 30 minutes.
