Hello,

Hoping someone can help.

I have an A4 2.0 TDI 55 plate with climate control issues. The engine temperature remains at a steady 90 and does not fluctuate. When it has reached this temperature you would expect that if for example i set the temperature of climate control to 28degrees it is not nowhere near that temperature. Only lukewarm air. It gets a bit better on the motorway but still no way near that temperature as i should expect to be sweltering.

All the vents seem to work fine so theres no blockage.
Any ideas?

I had a similar issue on my 01 A4. I flushed the heater matrix and got a load of rusty gunk coming through. The heater blew hot after that.

(let's not mention that it took me a couple of attempts before I got anything through...)

right. trying to explain that to a mechanic and they say it won't be that. one of the mechanics I go to has said try the replacement. any ideas if this issue is related to the thermostat? some say it could be flaps, heater matrix so very confused.

If temperature gauge is happy the heater mixer flap is most likely.

Thanks dr g.

Any decent mechanics people know in bolton who can help with this issue? I took it to another mechanic I know and he goes try the cabin filter first to see if that helps in correcting the issue. I would think that would be an issue if it's not blowing any air at all, right? So confused!

Pollen filter would have to be full of cement to do that.

I thought so.
Plus I had that changed in my last full service. I think these heaters mixer flap definitely sounds like it's the issue

I'll get it checked out cheers but if anyone knows of any decent mechanics in bolton that could help in sorting this please let me know. Cheers

Hi there ..I had this problem on my a4 2.0 TDI..on mine there was an air lock in my matrix radiator..to cure this I run the car and got warm then find the 2 rubber hoses that go into the car for the matrix..mine are dead centre under bonnet at back to left of battery..anyway undo the clip and pull it back ..then if you look on the rubber hose there is a small like pin hole in it around an inch back on the rubber hose ...gently pull back the rubber hose until the pin hole is clear of the metal pipe and air will hiss out ( I left my engine running).. When the air stops coming out and water squirts through the pin hole your done.. Tighten up the clip again !.. Please do at your own risk and be careful ..1 ..the metal pipes from the matrix radiator are soft aluminium and damage easy when trying to remove rubber hose and are usually very tight 2.. Be careful of hot water ...this worked for me after changing thermostat and temp sensor and still cold blowers :-) p.s the top was the only one I undid and was the tlreturn to engine ..hope this helps everyone ...I have heard stories of head cracked ..water pump gone etc.... All along was an airlock stopping hot air circulating for heating ..
