Which Car £23k 120Co2
Discussion
It's not an interesting suggestion, because they're everywhere, but I'd be extremely surprised if anything sub 120g/km CO2 drove better than the 110g/km CO2 BMW 320 ED. The standard car gets 5/5 from Autocar, but the ED actually has lower suspension than the standard 320d, so it has an even lower CofG (the standard car is already quite a lot lower than most cars), which presumably gives it better handling (I've ridden in one a few times, but not driven one). The handling of the standard car is lovely, but it's also quieter than the opposition, more powerful per gramme of CO2 (a consideration for you in your situation I'm sure), etc etc. I wouldn't consider anything else - unless the excellent Merc C class has a low CO2 offering?

But not for £23k.At that price bracket you'll be in the Mercedes A180 CDi, and the BMW 116d or 118d - unless they let you buy used of course.
What the age rules OP?
