Saw the GTM at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas Tuesday. If sorted properly I think the GTM will give the Ultima GTR a Challenge. I am sold on the Design and Engineering.

This is probably one of those cases where it looks better in the flesh (like, in your driveway). Not a very flattering shot, IMHO. It appears that lines and surfaces don't match well. Don't forget about all of the bits you will have to get from a doner C5 Corvette. Not sure I like that idea too much. 2,200 lbs. will be competitive with the LS6 and G50.XX.
The GTM shows a lot of potential, especially with the kit target price at around $20k. A lot of details have yet to be established, however. I'm much less enthusiastic about the "donor" approach for a car that purports to be in the Ultima/F1/Enzo/etc. class.
I would hesitate to build that car to the same spec as the top GTR/Canams that several on this forum have done, i.e. 600+ HP geared for 200 mph and higher. There just isn't enough information out there yet.
However, for a "kinder and gentler" supercar in the 350 HP range it offers tremendous cost/performance. Figure $20k for the kit, $15k for the donor, $5k for paint/body work, and $5k for G50 and "other." That's $45k. My calculations for a similar GTR comes in at about $65k and up.
And then there's the roll-up windows!

I saw it last year at SEMA as well as this year. My friend asked if they could open up the engine bay so he could have a look, They said the couldn't as it was not operable. They haven't made any progress since last year. Chassis rigidity looks non-existent compared to an Ultima. POS in my opinion.
I agree with the piano comment. It is cheaper and you get what you pay for.

Still a work in progress you are right. But progress they have made with a operational car. Last years car was inoperable in the strict sense with no engine or doors. This years GTM is driving and is in the testing stages of the car. The history of Factory Five Racing program go back to 1995 and further back with the owners. With 6 engineers on staff and money to back the development of the car all it takes is time now.
Yeh definately looks much better now. Def looks better than alot of other supercars (enzo, new maserati, new ford GT). Very low and very wide looks like it'd have alot of presence.
Back does look weird but it's growing on me. Some angles look a bit strange, but I think the car looks pretty smooth. Looks very musclar too.
Ultima = better ass
GTM = much sleeker

"I like to hear suggestions about the car, that is one of the main reasons we show it before it is finished. Both the interior and rear end of the car are still works in progress, the final detail of the dash, the seats, inner door panels, along with the basically everything behind the rear wheels is still being reshaped. The nose, doors, sides, and roof are probably very close to how they will end up for production, except all of the scoops and vents will be functional. I do like the modified headlights."

jschwartz they have made quite a few changes since last year. They totally redesigned the chassis, redid the front end, and have added an interior. The worst angle on this car is from directly behind. It looks like a rectangle. They need to round off the rear fenders, maybe shorten the width of the spoiler to make it a little sexier. Other than that I think it looks ok.

*sorry for being rude*
Or, is the rad cock-eyed in the picture above? This is just a mock-up, so no big deal I guess. Sounds like they still have lots of changes in the works.
