An X6 just being an X6.

But that driver is disabled... They were mental enough to buy an X6!
I don't get why people don't like these. They are no less practical than an X5 and look better. So where is the downside?I think most people would disagree that the X6 looks better, but that's subjective.
Look forward to your answer on the practicality question. Should be good!

How is the X6 with one less seat and a much smaller boot (and no seven seatr option) "no less practical" than the X5?
Because everyone only ever carries 7 people and boot full of luggage then??
Ok I take your point and concede. However they are hardly an impractical vehicle and they still look better.
For the record a Focus ST only has 4 seats and a boot no bigger, so maybe they aren't practical either then?

Compared to a Focus Estate, no it wouldn't be as practical & I think that's the argument - you said an X6 was as practical as an X5 and it just isn't.The fact the X6, to my eyes, looks like a dog having a s
t is a different story
Saying that, my OH loves the X6 - she's been with me for 23 years so maybe that should be telling me something

It's difficult to claim practicality as a feature of hte X6, given its lack of space relative to its size. If you need a 4x4 with dectne ground clearance, will never fill more than four seats and don't need a large boot, then an X6 is a reasonable choice (not many people would be able to say this).
(if you like its looks and I don't)

You will be berated for liking any car which doesn`t fit into these criteria:
TVR, MX5, 20 year old Merc/BMW/ other German luxo saloon.
There are rare exceptions to these rules.
I like the X6
I also like the Nissan Juke.
I also try not to judge people solely by their choice of car.

Not sure of the relevance of the Focus.

The Focus was just an example that many normally conceived practical cars actually manage no better than the X6. Few would ever claim an ST is an impractical car would they. It's difficult to claim practicality as a feature of hte X6, given its lack of space relative to its size. As for size, well ok if it bothers you. Although a 2 seat Lambo is as long and wide (maybe more so) and really has no boot. So I'm not sure it's really all that valid of a point.

The Juke I really quite like the look of - I looked at buying one of these, but needed a bigger boot.I also like the Nissan Juke.
For some reason, I just can't 'get' the X6 or some of the other models BMW currently do - particularly the "GT" ones. To my eyes they look a bit odd, but if we all liked the same things life would be dull!
For a "challenging" looking car, I give you the Subaru Tribeca (now this I do like
)
