Engine just blew up

Afternoons fellas,
Send me some positive thoughts will you please. 996 engine just threw a piston on the motorway in Denmark and I'm sitting at the side of the road in a huge cloud of smoke!
Had a feeling something was going to happen.. Bugger!

Just don't bother fitting a new piston, you still have 5 left and might get a sort of quattro warble sound when you drive around. Audi own Porsche after all so it would still be fitting.

I'm starting to wonder if Eric Idle once owned a Porsche.

It's only money, you can't take it with you. Just make sure your hearse had a Toyota Supra engine and you will be fine.

They certainly have their well known issues (always had, look back at the history of the 911) but, then again, they are not the only engines that blow up eiher (see BMW, Subaru, Honda, etc).

As a matter of interest have any of those other manufacturers lost a class action against them over engine failures?

Get Hartech to rebuild it and try to enjoy the process. You will end up with a better car at the end of it that will be easier to sell and will be worth a few grand more.

Yes I've put 100,000 miles on the 360 but it never let rip like this or left me stranded anywhere! So much for German reliability.
I was thinking Hartech was the only way..
