My dash veneer is cracked and I'm thinking of something different to the wood effect. What have you done that looks better? Has anyone vinyl wrapped their dash or body colour coded it?

If I had the courage I would try body colour just like some of the '60's Ferrari sports cars.

Found these pics on Pistonheads for ideas.

Ditto here….. Its a personal choice, but I think wood veneer really suites the Griff.

Hmmmm well carbon is way too modern, so that's a no no.

Trouble with the wood grain is its just too, erm, too xjs if you know what I mean.

Think Im gonna try a colour wrap and see what it looks like....something like this perhaps?

No I don't really. There are loads of classic sports cars that have wooden dash boards. I think people who try to modernise the dash are really looking to solve a problem that doesn't exist. wink

It's your car, so do with it, what you want. But vinyl or paint or a wrap will devalue your car. Although a scabby wooden one, more so! Buyers generally want a wood veneer over stainless.

I think the dash is important, because it's what is facing you when driving. So my 2p is veneer or stainless as they're more traditional.

I don't think I agree with that at all. Someone may go out to look for a particular style as their ideal but I can't see that it's actually going to affect the value of the car unless someone has "stickerbombed" it (google it..) meaning it's wholly undesirable.

I rather like the body colour look I must admit, particularly where it's a nice bold colour.

Mine is a chequered steel and I think it suits it nicely. I really don't like the wood. To each their own.

I've wondered how it could look to tidy up (actually design) the wiring behind the dash and then have a smoked Perspex facia. I can't see I'd want to have it like that permanently but I'd be interested to see what it looked like.

Joking aside, owners should do exactly what they want and everyone has different tastes. I suppose when the Griff was launched it had a wood veneered dash and so to me that looks right. However because the style of the Griff harks back to those great sports cars like the AC Cobra and D-Type Jag one could have a leather faced dash or a stainless steel one. When I visited the factory to see my car in construction the ladies in the trim shop said she even chose a paler coloured wood to match the butterscotch leather used on the inner edge of the dash surround and seats etc., I like touches like that. But as has been said it's all personal taste. biggrin

Only joking also, 7k mileage ! My 99 is up to 23k. Rich, I thought non rubber pedals were illegal, I was told to remove them for mot time. My dash is ally with ally switches and white led illumination, with black interior it looks great. But of course each to their own.

That's an old picture David hehe like you I'm on about 29k now. I've never been told to remove the pedals so I've either got a lenient tester or it's not strictly the case... confused
