OH's V plate Focus 2.0 Ghia has water in both front floorwells, is this down to blocked drainage holes or heater inlet or similar or something more drastic?
Any help appreciated, thanks smile

Passenger side is normally the scuttle cover over the pollen filter, drivers side doesnt normally give any issues. Has the screen been replaced? Has it just been serviced?

As already mentioned it's probably the pollen filter scuttle seal but it could also be the door membrane which is easy to check,
Open the doors & run a hose over the window if the membranes shot you will see water running from the bottom of the door card
If not that on the passenger side of the scuttle remove the screw & gently unclip the pollen filter housing life it slightly & feel the pollen filter, if it's wet there is your problem

If the drain holes for the plenum (the trough where the pollen filter sits) are blocked, rain water will build up and flood through the pollen filter and into the car through the heating system.

You'll need to take the wipers off, unscrew the black grille at the base of the windscreen (2 halves).

I had a V plated 2.0 Ghia with identical symptoms. I spent weeks trying to trace the source and driving round with the interior plastics stripped out tracing to find the leak. After fitting new scuttle plates, clearing drainage holes and anything else I could find, turned out to be the windscreen itself.

Due to the value of the car I simply ran clear bathroom sealant round the outside of it. Cured!

Finally got time to look at this, got the scuttle cover off breaking 1 clip in the process & was greeted with a pile of what I guess used to be a seal.

Can you buy new seals or will I need to source a new cover? The pollen filter feels dry but that could be as we have had no rain for a few days?

The spark plug wells seem to have fluid in them too, not sure if oil or water at this stage, is this normal?

Ford will try to sell you the complete panel
Here's just the seal

If you have fluid in the spark plug wells it's likely either oil from a cam cover leak or washer fluid from a leaky washer jet
