Currently have a R56 MINI Cooper S, and it's a nice little car, with plenty of poke.
Come next June/July we want to change to a 'next size' up car, for example Focus/Golf.
We want something as quick if not quicker than the MINI, but here's the sticking point, we don't want to have to spend anymore on petrol/insurance etc. For reference current costs are £400 PA insurance, and 33MPG @ approx £1.38 a litre. Annual milelage in the region of 11 to 12000.
Would like to hear recommendations, obvisously there are the usual suspects, Golf GTI, Focus ST etc, so any curveball suggestions welcome also.
(disclaimer, i have a deposit for a house and am over the age of 30, so i'm not looking at how to spend/invest my money elsewhere!)
