I have some new CP5200 6 bolt calipers for my new 330mm front discs and thus my old 4 bolt cp5200 4 pot calipers are surplus.

I would like your comments on fitting them to the rear.......

I think you would have too much braking force at the back.

Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Under heavy braking, the weight shifts more to the front, so you don't need much on the rear before it wants to lock up. That is, unless you're towing a trailer. biggrin

I was thinking that, but was thinking also, larger pad area( with the 4 pots) increase braking, and 4 pots needing more fluid than 2 pots, decrease braking. Does that sort of make sense?

It's to do with piston area not number of pots strictly..

Calipers for the front will be very overbraked for the rear, plus will probably end up with a long pedal travel.

I have the 330s on the front of my race car with 6 pots, the rare are fine as road standard even against lighter cars th Cerb can brake late into corners, I think Mike has the same set up as me on brakes albeit a lighter car. One thing to watch is the width of the pads as I found the conversion has slightly less room on one side if the disc to the calipre and this can overheat the brakes which is obviously dangerous, we take a bit off the pads now before they go in!!

I find mine is over braked on the rear under heavy braking. The last thing the Cerb needs is bigger rear brakes IMHO.

Braking into La Source at Spa is a particularly entertaining experience.

It's comparable to running my track 325 with fill brake pressure to the rear (not restricted through the load compensator).

I really think the Cerb could do with a bias valve to reduce the rear pressure a bit.

Unless I just had rubbish pads in the back....

I guess it depends on the spring rates as well, mine used to dive a lot more on the brakes until I fitted heavier front springs on my Nitrons. Mine now has CL5+ all round and this was a real improvement over the CL5+ front and Yellow stuff rear combo I had.

I'm going for cl5+ from bruummie, hoe are the rear brakes with different pads?

500lb enough? laugh Will treat mine to some CLs once I get it all back together.

That should do it ridds!

Mine are 450 but the break balance did feel significantly better with matching rear pads.

Can't remember if I'm on Ferodo DS2500 or Pagids up front currently.

Rears, no idea.
