Bit of background...

October 2008 I joined a Califonian based medical device start-up. I was the first business development manager to be employed outside of the US. My job was to introduce this new technology to consultant surgeons in London, get them interested, train them on the technology, get the hospitals to purchase this technology, train the theatre staff how to put the kit together and help surgeons with their first cases.

In short, best job I had ever had. Absolutely loved it and made loads of £££s.

The company was then bought out by the worlds largest healthcare company in 2010. For two years things were fine until the start of 2012. I felt something was wrong. Then it happened in march. I was put on gardening leave pending investigations into numerous accusations made by employees into my conduct. There were lies, half truths spun, and general backstabbing made by 3 'colleagues', all backing each other up. I was gutted.

In the end I resigned through fear of being fired. Looking back I realise I should have fought the accusations but at the time I was so hurt I just wanted to run away. I am still in contact with a couple of people, who say that I did well to get out when I did as the atmosphere now is awful compared to how things were.

I started another job in June, in reality I knew it was a stop gap until another decent start-up came along. I think I have found one and have first interview this coming Tuesday.

It has taken me six months to get over the shafting, and I am now definitely ready for another exciting challenge.

Just wanted to share and hopefully get a few good lucks from you good people.

Thanks for reading!

smile
