im re spraying a diecast model that has the soor mirror glass just stuck on like a sticker

whatver theyve used looks very nice , thin like tape but , better looking than any foil tape ive had including bare metal foil

any thing available u can use

If it's a sticker you can normally remove and re-stick it back on quite easily.

yeah i was hoping that i might be able to save them , any suggestions for best results ?

how do i get under the edge without making a nick in it ?

Scalpel. The glue is normally quite loose or soft, not a hard type adhesive. You can warm it further with body heat.

KA Models do make some rather good chrome foil/sticker as well.

thanks bit small for what im working on ..1/18 and 1/14 scale , prefer something i can cut

right i managed to peel the mirrors and some badges off , ive stored them on some wax paper

whats best to refix the badge stickers with as all the adhesive is gone now , idealy needs to be clear

If you have some Johnsons Klear, that'll work. Otherwise varnish/lacquer is a good alternative, just use sparingly and apply with a cocktail stick.

is there anything with a bit more grab? theyve curled up a fair bit frown

im storing them under something heavy in the hopes they flatten

Yeah, superglue, but then you run the risk of imprinting your fingerprints into the paintwork as you're holding them down. Plus, you have the added joy of fogging as the glue goes off. If they are that curled, you're going to be on a hiding to pain, to be honest.

Do you have some pictures of the parts? Worst case, email me your address and I'll pop some foil tape in the post to you to try.

the mirrors will go back no probs..maybe clear epoxy ?

its the tiny badges on the right side thats the main concern

I'd still go for clear coat or varnish for all of them to be honest. With the wings decals, maybe wait until the clear is tacky before placing the decal onto it, but I've applied worse condition decals using the same technique.
