Fantastic surprise drive

Well, what an amazing day! I had given up on any decent dry days pre winter and salting with all this rain we have had, then woke up to a beautiful sunny day this morning. My wife was away with the little one at Grandma's this morning so I spent a pleasant couple of hours tinkering in the garage then took my late fathers recently (very nearly) completed Fiat Dino 2000 Coupe that I have spent the last 3 years rebuilding out for a final blast. God it was great! Those engines are truely superb. She has no problem keeping with (or indeed shaking off) modern traffic and the noise at 7000rpm with the window open is like nothing else, pure music!! We did 45 or so miles together, took her back to the old family home for a trip down memory lane and blasted back down the A27 at a 5500rpm cruise.
Probably bored you all senselss with that, but I just needed to share it. Hope that many more of you were able to get out for a sunny drive, it certainly put a massive cheesey grin on my face!

you could probably repeat this many times over late autumn, winter and early spring
I'm in the middle of the country and even last winter, one of the worst for decades, I was out often on sunny (yes really) dry days without the worry of salt on great empty country roads and unlike today no motorbikes (or old farts dribbling along in poorly maintained classics), it was early spring this year that was a wash out and unusually many summer days were too hot for a really enjoyable drive
if you can made the opportunities you'll find there are a lot more good driving days than you imagine between now and next spring
go enjoy yourself again
