hi, having real financial trouble with the rebuild im currently working on the rear and want to get the suspension sorted so i can turn it round over christmas and start reconditioning the front of the chassis, wishbones and suspension, I cant afford the springs and shocks, its faulse econamy to just replace the springs, plastic shims and bushes on the konis. however... I do have a set of reconditioned front avos other than spring rates are they technicaly the same as the rears? I know im clutching at straws and i know avos have not got the best rep but can i fit the front avos on the rear? any other suggestions of springs, shocks and bushes on a budget ? any one got a decent set of rears for sale or know of alternative source (griff, chim???) or should I flog the avos and just slap the old units back on

I can answer the question about Avos, they are a standard fit front and rear.

Spring rates are probably different (check out "suspension wiki") but if you just want something to put on temporary so you can turn the car round they'll be fine.

Chim/Griff are different I believe but keep your eye on classifieds and Ebay, something will turn up or maybe someone on here will come to your rescue?

From AVO website

Fixed seat same front/rear

Adjustables different front/rear

Don't really see the problem, changing shocks is a ten minute job, put anything on to move car and sort when finances allow (or a bargain turns up)?

Keep the faith, you'll get there wink
