Diff hanger bushes
Discussion
Hi all,
Ok, rather than hijacking Matt-mans resto thread, and thanks for your help so far, but, what I really want to know is.... What are these http://www.mlperformanceparts.co.uk/product/rear-s... originally from and what application? Because the chances are if they are jag, landy or something leyland then I can get them here easy.
A part number would be awsome.
Cheers guys
Adam

It's very similar to a 1960s Jaguar engine mounting bush.
It's also the same bush used for the forward pivot of the trailing arms on a Lotus Esprit (up to S3, at least).
There was a Metalstik part number for it (not that it'll help you much), I'll see if I can find it...
Edit: I think it was a 17/404... but SJ Sportscars have them in stock here, part number A046D6000F, about 36 GBP each.

From previous experience with trailing arm bushes i would go for the Superflex unless you can get good quality original type and not original stock..I should imagine getting to the diff mount bushes is a right nightmare so wouldn't want to have to repeat the job anytime soon..I have a small amount of play in the diff cradle and hope its not the hanger bushes…Does anyone know what the cradle bushes are from please…Cheers…Ziga

In the diff hanger application they aren't sressed in the same fashion: the diff sits in a cradle that is bolted to the chassis. The bottom of the diff is isolated from the cradle by two A-frame type bushes and the top of the diff is stabilised by the alloy cross-beam, the ends of which hang under those trailing-arm type bushes. So whilst the diff is trying to twist its way free, the load is shared by 4 points
