Just thought i would try something different
Discussion
Been a fan of the VR1 20w50 racing oil ,thought I would try this oil. Anyone used Lucas oils ? They are big in the USA.

I use Fuchs http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68898-fuchs-titan-race...
I've wondered if you actually notice much real world difference when changing brands?

I would use 20w50 if i was doing a number of car shows a year, so you should be ok with that Daz.
I use 10w60, as I do a number of track days a year. The engine comes under a lot of stress keeping up with (and occasionally overtaking) Phazed on track, as i only have 300 bhp.....
I wanted Shell Helix Racing, but couldn't get it in time for my oil change, so went for Castrol Edge instead.
I combine this with 3000 mile oil and filter changes rather than 6000, to help protect the engine.
No oil leaks or other issues to report. Barely used any oil in the first 2,000 miles, as you would expect.

What miles per ltr are you now geeting from the Valvloine.. has it improved?
Interesting you ask that question.....What miles per ltr are you now geeting from the Valvloine.. has it improved?
My car has done 3,000 miles since the rebuild in March.
It was fitted with mineral oil to aid running in for the first 1,200 miles. I then changes the oil and filter and kept with the mineral oil (this time Valvoline 20/50) and it is using a fair bit of oil since then (although I never see any smoke from the exhausts).
Is this oil renowned for heavy usage?
I plan on going synthetic from March when it gets a full service.

not according to Daz.. thats why I asked the question (twice)... but obviouly he does not want to talk about it on here.. so guess the answer is 'Loads!'
I'm also on this after a re-build and its using a bit... what are you getting??
I haven't measured but I'd guess at least 500ml every 500 miles, maybe a tad more.
