Noise reduction on Photoshop
Discussion
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any links to any good articles or tutorials on noise reduction in photoshop? I find that with some longer exposures at night im getting quite a bit of noise that i would like to reduce.
Ive tried in the inbuilt "auto" settings on photoshop but would rather not use that as a crutch and actually learn what it is im doing.
Or is it a case of just play with the settings until it looks right?

It's also worth noting that tweaks to exposure, contrast, clarity etc can introduce even more noise. I normally over expose by 1/3 or 2/3 of a stop if working in dull light so I don't end up introducing more noise by bringing up the exposure or bringing up the shadows/black levels on the tone curves. Not saying that's the right way, but that's how I try and keep noise to a minimum.
