Morning all! I've been an avid viewer of pistonheads for a number of years and sold many a car off here. I work in the motor trade and am having a very boring morning so I thought I'd bore you all with my car history.

1st - Citroen Saxo 1.0 Mischief - Most embarrasing car ever in hindsite. Was bullied at colege because of it, was slow as anything and I spent way too much on the sound system, alloy wheels and various other "pimping". Nevertheless it was my first car, cheap on insurance and fuel, I bought it from a friend's garage, kept it 8 months and sold for a profit - result!

2nd - Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec - Bought it off my nan for a good price! Put Zetec-S wheels on it and it was a lot less embarassing than the Saxo. Had it till I left college

3rd - Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S - Bought it when I got my first full time job. Absolutely loved this car. Spent fortunes on it again but felt it was a lot more tasteful!

4th - Ford Fiesta ST - Natural progression from Zetec S. Only car I properly regret selling. Had full exhaust, induction kit, lowered, everything tinted! Outrageous sound system. Was a fantastic car!

5th - Seat Ibiza Cupra TDi - Only car I've slipped up on **touch wood! Was remapped and I blew it up. Couldn't find a second hand engine so sold spares or repair and lost a fortune!

6th - Honda Civic Type-R - Replaced the Ibiza with something much cheaper as I lost a lot of money! Only had it 2 weeks but was a great car and I made a huge profit selling it! Got me back on the "car ladder"

7th - Ford Fiesta ST - Had this one the longest. It was a real sleeper. Full milltek exhaust, K&N induction kit, lowered 45mm, Remapped to 198bhp. Sounded awesome and I clocked up 20k miles in 8 months! Another one I regret selling. Only did because I got a company car!

8th - Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi Econetic 2011 - Boring and slow, but very cheap to run and didn't cost me anything as it was a company car. Obviously didn't bother getting a picture of this one! Had it 2 months then left the company!

9th - Ford Fiesta ST - Another one! Bought it from the guy who worked next to my work and was selling. Had it up for a good price and bought it as a stop gap. Was standard other than being low!

10th - Seat Leon FR 2.0 TFSI - Nice enough car, was fast, comfortable and a nice spec, it had every extra conceivable! But didn't really handle and just felt like an old mans car to me!

11th - Mazda 3 2.3T MPS - Bought this on a whim, loved it to pieces, was so fast and nobody knew what it was! Cost a small fortune to run though so only had it 3 months. Sold it to a guy who flew down from Scotland. I do regret selling this car as it was my fastest by far! But 18MPG and £490 road tax were the killers!

12th - Renault Clio 197 Cup - Wanted one for a while and found this on PH classifieds, was my perfect spec with recaros and in glacier white. I was hooked, was quick and handled fantastically! Only sold it as I was clocking too many miles in it.

13th - Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S Mk7 - Felt I needed to be sensible and buy something cheaper to run so settled for this. Was a nice car with full leather, street pack, city pack, bluetooth and USB but I got bored of 120bhp very quickly!

14th - Renault Clio 197 - Wasn't particularly looking for another but this one turned up and i'd never seen a spec like it. Full fat with recaros, xenons, climate, cruise, full renault service history and had just had the belt done. Mileage was quite high but didn't bother me too much.

15th - VW Golf 2.0T GTi DSG - Felt like a needed something more mature! Loved this car, as did all my mates but at 88k miles and 7 years old it was starting to show its age a bit and things started to go wrong so I sold it before the big bills started!

16th - Ford Focus ST-2 - Loved this beast, my brother had one and always wanted one. Managed to find a 5dr pre facelift in white - very rare! When I sold it I made quite a bit and sold it straight away!

17th - Citroen Saxo 1.4 - I decided that at 22 I needed to start thinking about moving out so I relieved myself of my money tied up in cars and bought this for £300 on new years eve just to get us to Newcastle from Cambridge. It did the job and I used it as my daily for 2 months then sold it for £800 when the MOT and tax were due!

18th - Ford Focus ST-2 - My budget motoring idea didn't last long and soon found myself back in an ST. I did like this car as the facelifts in my opinion are much nicer than the pre-facelift!

19th - Vauxhall Astra VXR - Always fancied one of these but wish I never owned one! Was fast but didn't really handle and just kept going wrong! Gearbox went and then rocker cover gasket. Was nice to look at but wouldn't have another. The Focus ST as an all rounder is a much, much better car!

20th - My current car - Seat Ibiza 1.4 TSi Bocanegra DSG - This car suits me perfectly. It is fast enough but still easily returns 45MPG. It's cheap on tax and insurance as well. I do 70 miles a day for work and this gives me everything I require of a car. Plan is to keep until the new year then get an R32!

Impressive haul, but I would always find myself questioning the logic of someone who bought 7 different of the same car in a 6 year period...

Please say you mean an R32 Skyline?

Not a bad collection, apart from all the Fords! wink

Just joking. I'm a big fan of the MK6 ST.

Thanks for the comments guys! My blue ST had a few other things done to it as well to make it 198bhp but I'm no mechanic so don't ask me! The company I was working for at the time used it as a promo car so I just let them get on with it and do what they needed to do!

To be honest my main logic for selling most of them is I do a lot of miles and wanted to move them on before I lost any money. I bought the Bocanegra on 4th July at 46,802 miles and it sits outside today at 57,956!

I used to refuse to have much else other than a Ford! When I was "younger" I loved the Fiesta ST. I only sold the black one to buy a diesel and regretted it so bought the blue one. I only sold that because I got a company car and when I bought my 3rd one I was bored of them!

And I mean a Golf MK5 R32 I'm afraid!

Brilliant! Nice selection of cars there. I'll bookmark this thread and whenever my wife dares to suggest I've had too many cars I'll refer her to this! I've also had 20 cars, but over 23 years of driving to you 5-6. hehe

That is very good going. I'm 23 and only had 2 cars none of which are above 75bhp... Feck my life. I did go to Uni though whereas seems you didn't?

How did you find the Golf GTI compared to all the others? I'm finally making a move on my first proper car and the Golf is an option but a 130i is leading at the moment so just wondered what your thoughts were seen as you've owned a fair few of their rivals?

No I didn't so give it 5 years and I'm sure you'll be ahead of me in the best car competition! Haha the Golf was OK but it just felt a little dull compared to some of the other hot hatches. It was fast but wasn't really exciting, same as the Leon. If I was you I'd just look at the R32. I've driven a few through work and they've got all the best points of the Golf with the addition of that noise which is just something else!!
