Not what you want to see....

Came home on Saturday to find the following nice note under my windscreen:
"Knocked your bumper, no mark. Mobile: xxxx-xxxxxxxx"
Checking the car - of course the bumper and also the bodywork are marked.
So questions I guess on advice:
1) Body work / paint repair shops in London - people would recommend?
2) Do I just take the car to Aston Martin for repair?
3) Person has asked for quote - but not provided insurance details yet - so not yet fully got liaibility - other than the handwritten (rain-sodden note)
4) Any one know of any good forums for anyone who wants to sublet private parking in North London?

I could maybe help on one of those, are you anywhere near N4 ?

Yep - N1 (Islington)
Ok, i have a house in N4 which is with 4 others in a mews, the tenants there do not have a car although access into the mews is extremely tight - its basically a tunnel in between two houses.I don't know much about Astons, but they do look quite wide - is it an illusion or are they wider than usual ?
Judging by the pic, some of that could be polished out. Don't take your car to Aston martin. They will just ship it out to a bodyshop they use because they get a good deal and they might be Aston approved too, which doesnt mean a thing.
There a people on here that I know of that have gone through the dealer system and they did a crap job.
The only bodyshop I would send people to in the London area is sl restorations in crawley. Best in the country.
Steer clear of mobile paint guys.

I managed not long after I bought my V8 Vantage to catch the door post of my garage and I called in the services of Mark O'Connor at http://www.superauto.co.uk
He is excellent and I would thoroughly recommended his services, suggest you email a picture to him firm.

As the other driver has been good enough to leave his details, something at least 95% of others would not have done, I would not try taking him to the cleaners and be decent enough in return to try and get it polished out professionally.
Any reputable bodyshop could try, and if unsuccessful, could quote on repairing it and if your chap is paying cash, make sure the bodyshop dont add on the insurance MPE (might pay eventually) tax to cover all the messing about the insurers will do to them.

That may be true, but they are few and far between, plus they are only as good as the paint they use and I know that the stuff chips away usr isnt as good as they use in a normal bodyshop. Plus, don't be fooled that because they use someone at a dealership they are really good. 9 times out of 10, it's because they are cheap.
