TVR Lube plate
Discussion
Well I think most on here know there are a number of different lube plates from the early cars to the vixen and Tuscan and then the M series ones
So why oh why when you can pick up the phone to David Gerald which I did this week and order 3 different ones Two for me and one for another friend does a plate wrongly listed on e bay claiming it is correct for all models and with 4 days to go reach over £40 with postage crazy world we live in

People expect these things to be rare that's why. Like you, I just picked up the phone because I happened to know that DG stocked them,, but it's easy to be mislead. I don't think it fits all thecars listed anyhow. Someone will be cross, and it will end up back on the bay with a high buy it now price.

Hi AstacusIt will fit any car you want just wont be correct

On a serious note would be very useful if people can post pictures that the are 100% correct for there particular year and model if unsure then don't post it up as maybe this thread can be of help to others in the future when doing research.
I know old threads have been a great help when I have been looking but not all information has been correct but at least its been a help.
I believe there are at least 5 different ones for the pre 80s cars maybe more would be interesting to get them all on this thread.
I am not sure if the Griffith had a different one I know the V8 Tuscan cars did the Grantura models had a green one and I think the same was on the MK1 Vixens then there is a Vixen type one and a 3000m one and I think a different one on the Turbos but not sure.
It would have made sense that the Lube plate changed depending on whatever engine was fitted that leaves us with the following options however I guess its not that simple.
It would be great if some of the Experts on here would clarify the different ones.
Climax
MG
Triumph 1300
Ford 1600
Triumph 2500
Ford Essex
Ford V8 289
A few 302s if the books are correct
Daimler V8 very few

one which I have not got a picture off as it was rather in bits and that was exactly the same print and wording as the other M series cars however on the last run of cars they seemed to either be going to change the plate for the Tasmin and had run out of stock or the funds where just not there to order up stock so they printed some as sticker transfers with a white background and stuck in the usual place.
This was the case on The 1980 Taimar we are restoring.
