996 Turbo - Tip or Manual

What's the deal with the 996 turbo?

when I looked for my 997 I found more manuals than Tips

it seems with the 996 Turbo there are more tips than manuals. whys that?

Tips are generally 2-3k cheaper than a manual so if you are searching at the lower end of values that may be why

The 996T manual is much more sought after and hot property at the moment, so there are less for sale.

Funny you say that. I have been looking for a tip since May and I get the impression there are far more manuals about at present.

Really !!!, I wouldn't quite say 2/3k more, if anymore at all, where the evidence for this ???

This was certainly the case when I was on the hunt (1 year ago~) and I doubt things have changed that much, in fact a thread recently showed a trader selling identical cars (even the same colour scheme), one tip, one manual - price was 2-3k different

996T's seem to be extremely sensitive to a number of factors not just transmission:
- X50
- Facelift cars 02+ at one level, 03/04 even more so
- Black interior over tan/grey
- Black/gunmetal exterior over blue's & silvers
- Turbo S model

If you know what you want and it fits into some or all of the above expect to pay a premium
