Looking for a bit of advice please - just picked up new shed tonight, previous owner died. The car was taxed as disabled for the previous owner and the tax expired at the end of September.

Is it just a case of going to the pos office with the new keeper supplement to get a tax disc, or is there some complicated process to go through?

I have looked on the DVLA website, but can't find anything that answers the question.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Last time I taxed a car that was registered disabled I had to do it at the DVLA local office, although don't know if this has changed since they've shut the local offices.

As above, we had to pay a visit to our local DVLA office when we bought a vehicle that was previously tax exempt through being registered to the NHS.

You can do this in the post office now.

I know you can change to a disabled tax class at a disc issuing Post Office, but is that the case when changing from disabled ? I thought that could only be handled by DVLA offices.

I had this in the summer. You have to go to a DVLA office. They will change it over to private light goods and tax it there if you want. I found that the post office wouldn't do it.
