Another 'What Car' Thread I'm Afraid.

So my lovely X-Type is seemingly gone thanks to the bottom end of the engine deciding to divorce itself from the rest of the engine last Friday.
Not sure if it is worth the hassle/expense of getting a replacement engine fitted so what do i replace the X-Type with?
Another one, a BMW of some sort? I dont know & after spending the last three hours trawling through the classifieds i still dont know!!!!
All i know is that whatever i buy next has to have four doors, a decent engine (by which i mean a 3 litre lump of some description), preferably an auto box & a decent sized rear boot as well as being a comfortable motorway cruiser as i spend a lot of time on the M5/M6 these days.
I think that i want another X-Type however swmbo says get something else although she doesnt know what either.
I dont want an MX5 before some bright spark makes that suggestion!!!!
