Yep £50K is a lot but i tested both the 620R and The BAC Mono and whilst the Mono is a great looker it isn't as entertaining to drive , its engine is rough and it is twice the price .My money went on a 620R order
I don´t think they´re developing the motorbike. I think that´s an existing bike they have taken and painted it in Caterham colours.
I have seen it before on a bike web site. Just a marketing ploy me thinks. Maybe they can do a line in Caterham luggage..

Chartered Accountant here - with turnover of 18 million the accounts will almost certainly have been audited by an independent firm of accountants, so you can believe the numbers.
Development costs cannot be carried forward and spread over future years other than things like production tooling. Design costs would have to be written off as incurred. So a big push on new models could result in a big loss.
Accounts have to be annual - development plans don't. As long as the results match the expectations of the investors there should be nothing to worry about.
