Apparently on the way to me the number plate fell off the trailer and they were stopped by police who fined them £50 and then they had to wait while someone made up a plate and delivered it to them..The police would not let them drive it..Another £15 for the plate and they were on their way..Still i now have an empty garage which will be filled with my first V8…Cheers…Ziga

Mark, at least Samson has gone to a good home and will be loved and looked after and hopefully restored. One day you may regret selling it, especially if you happen to see it again somewhere in immaculate condition. Still, I guess you have enough to be getting on with for now and sometimes choices have to be made. I wish you all the best mate.

The guys from CR-Automotive came and took it…I have a feeling its for our old mate…But at least it will get done..I hope they take plenty of pics so we can see it being brought back to its former glory..I was worried that it might of got chopped for racing or even worst…That would just be sad for one of the oldest surviving Wedge's….Cheers..ziga

Would the police not let them use the plate off the back of the towing vehicle?

Apparently not!…They got fined because they did not have the V5 for the van on them!…Seems a bit harsh…Perhaps they bumped into mr plod having a bad day…Ziga

That's a bit much from plod! A majority of the trailers I see have a registration number, but it's not the registration number of the towing vehicle.

So who carries their V5 on them all the time then? There is a massive oppertunity for the boys in blue / government to make millions here.

it seems that way..It also seems unfair as they would of been able to see the plate on the van?…And like you say..Who carries their V5 on them?….I don't!…Cheers…Ziga
