Back has improved greatly,.Mainly due to guys on here recommending " treat your own back" book and a bit of vigorous physio, i managed to drive the chim to work today, glorious sunshine, V8 rumbling, no bum ache... Woo hoo!

Now where do i sign up for Pilates class....

I too have a bad back, damaged spine, and I wont let it rule my life so I do everything as normal as you get used to the pain. Once in the Chim there is no pain for me as it is the most perfect driving position I have found on any car.

I agree the chim is more comfortable than my golf gti. However the " legs straight out" driving position plus heavy clutch meant I had no chance extending my left leg without screaming and swearing due to a disc squashing my sciatic nerve.

+1 for that book of Robin Mckenzies - the exercises work for me almost every time.

And oddly enough the '98 500 clutch seems no where near as bad my old '95 400

Just info for what it's worth

+1 for the painless driving position of the Chim, My lower back is painfull until I am in the Chim and all the pain goes away, so I have to drive it everywhere at the minute smile
