What the hell is happening to me!

I woke up the other night with extreme chest pains and my shoulders were aching like mad? I literally could not climb out of bed and was really worried.
On the night in question I felt like I was drowning and could not breathe. I was shallow breathing and literally wry thing in agony in bed. Things seemed more painful when laying down?
Anyway things subsided after two days but even if I bend down now I get chest pains and my shoulders ache.
I don't know what to do as I don't want to worry the family. I only had a very extensive medical a few months ago at age 32 but I am completely dumbfounded?

What he said; the sooner a diagnosis is made(assuming MI or related unpleasantness) the sooner they can pump you full of drugs to halt the ongoing damage being done to the heart muscle. You describe 4 symptoms that strongly correlate to a heart attack; the correct response to this is phone 999 and tell them you think you're having a heart attack.Chest pain
Pains down the arm
Sensation of drowning
Respiratory distress
These are all heart attack symptoms; in case I'm not making it clear you may have had a heart attack and preventable damage may still be being done to the heart muscle.
Despite having left it as long as you have I'd still strongly advise you to go to A&E(preferably someone else driving) and explain your symptoms.
ETA; If the above isn't convincing enough, most heart attacks occur in the early morning while the victim is in bed. Seek medical advice now!

I am a Paramedic and based on what you say I would agree you should be assessed asap. However, again based purely on what you have said, I would think a MI (myocardium infarction, or heart attack) is a possibility but I'm thinking more of Pericarditis: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Pericarditis/Pages/In... It is an inflammation of the sac that surrounds your heart.
As a footnote, anyone of *any* age who experiences chest pains they cannot explain should call 999 immediately. Even leaving a MI for a couple of hours to "see if the pain goes", if it doesn't kill you could leave your heart permanently damaged and you disabled.
