I kind of knew what I'd be getting but I'm seriously shocked at the power and the way it's delivered....very happy.. loving it!

Anything I need to watch out for with regards to ownership? (apart from keeping the points off my license!)

All advice appreciated,

Matty

Only change from the picture is that it's now sporting a set of Carbon Fibre mirror scalps.

Just debating what other additions I can make in Carbon without overkilling it, I prefer subtle (well as it can be)

If you get bored of the power look at getting a dpf delete + remap. Should go from 286 to 360hp, sound better and have the same fuel consumption yes

Ok, you got my interest... Any downsides to getting this done? i.e. longevity of engine, turbos, autobox, etc..??

That looks great!

I still grin when I put my foot down in ours, 5.5 years after getting it!

I avoided remapping as I knew we'd keep it for a while but a quick dyno reading showed over 300bhp - most are running similar if looked after (335is are usually well over factory numbers too).

Shout if you need any advice/pointers - I'm pretty clued up on them now.

Make your 335d sound like it has a turbine engine?!

It's odd but when you mention a 335d, many automatically say "remap it" - how about leaving it? They aren't exactly slow.

If you DO want to remap it, use a decent firm like emaps or Evolve - both know their BMWs and custom map rather than just adding a standard set of codes.

Erm....not sure if you are trying to put me off or not... TBH I don't like the 'noise' from that at all.... but it's all down to personal preference I suppose, but for me it's a no to the whistle.

I'll be leaving mine 'as is' for now but the sound on the link supplied is not good at all IMO... each to their own I guess..

Think I'll stick to the cosmetics (i.e. Carbon Fibre) for now, nothing tacky just subtle... might go with interior and replacement diffuser section.

Good idea. I've yet to see the noise of a 335d properly improved but it must be possible. Milltek do a cracking job of making the 3.0TDI sound genuinely fruity. The 35d unit sounds fairly good (IMO) when pushed but at lower revs its definitely a diesel!

The whistle is 'interesting' even if it does make it sound like the Tractor unit.

Sounds good when he accelerates though.

My 335d is standard, and it's staying that way too!

The big problem is that the car has very little "performance" feel, and only occasionally feels properly muscular when pulling through 4th gear between say 80mph and xxxmph. Which in the UK, is a bit illegal............ Maybe i'm getting old, but i think i'll chop mine in for a current 8spd 330d (not much slower, but a lot nicer to drive and much more economical).

Naked CF is tacky boxedin

Unless the whole car is naked CF and it has a Pagani badge.
