LPG and Insurance
Discussion
I have not had any problems insuring my aftermarket conversion LPG car.
I am currently with M&S and no increase for the LPG modification (I ran the quote through as both lpg and standard). Previously I have used Direct Line for a couple of years.
Some of the comparison sites have the option for lpg conversion as well and will go away and find the best prices just like a standard car quote.
I have just had my renewal invitation from M&S today and will be searching around for quotes over the weekend, i don't intend on running into any issues.
My car is on the lpg register http://www.drivelpg.co.uk/ and was fully certificated on install. I don't recall having to prove this before it went electronic, but at the point of a claim they may well ask for evidence.
The http://www.lpgforum.co.uk/ has a list of insurance companies that definitely insure LPG converted cars.
