Because Stuttgart hadn't got round to formulating Speed yellow back then.
Added to which, put Fly yellow next to Speed, and even Speed begins to look rather dull ! (Genuinely)

I had assumed that the person who posted about the colour was oblivious to the fact that this is a factory colour for the RS and had assumed it had been colour-changed.

The standard of Thomas' cars always used to be superb 'back in the day' as I believe the phrase goes....

I have to hold my hands up here and admit that I was unaware that it was a factory colour on the RS.
