Hi Peeps..Well here are some things that i would like to know please….

1. When switching on sidelights are the headlight supposed to pop up?..They never did on Delilah.
2. To replace the little pieces of glass that cover the dash lights..i:e the indicators and High beam does the dash need removing?.
3. The hose that connects the swan neck to the top rad inlet has a small tear but is not leaking..If i replace this is it easier with the bonnet off and is it wise to shorten the swan neck and extend the silicone as it hits the bottom of the bonnet…More of the silicone than the clip.
4. There is a slight flick on the speedo..The cigarette lighter doesn't work and none of the centre console switches light up…Would this be connected?…(Obviously by wire)..

I think that's it for now…Thanks…Ziga

In the general scheme of Wedgeiness, that's not bad. Speedo flickything is almost certainly cable related

My headlights pop up when the side lights only are switched on. I think it was related to the dim-dip headlamp system that was needed for a short time.

There is a link somewhere which gives a wire you can cut to stop it. Haven't had time to do it yet on mine though so no idea if it works.

My headlights only come up when they are switched on, not with sides.
Swop you for why doesn't the intermittent wipe and second speed wipe work..

The centre console switches on my 350i are lit by an early attempt at what looks like fibre-optics from a single central enclosed bulb holder reached by removing the shroud from around said console (1 screw each side) to give access behind the radio. The lighting is very feeble compared to the rest of the dash!!

Depends on the year weather the lights come up on side lights, as been said, it is only 1 wire to cut, can't remember which at he moment.
The wooden dash trim neede to come out to replace the clear plastic section.
The centre switches all work of 1 bulb and fibre optics, although I would remove this and put LEDs to each switch.
Speedo may jump around at low speeds, but should settle, may need a new cable if it doesn't .

I said in another thread, the small (3mm I think) LEDS will fit in the platsic bulb holders on the switches

No worries - but remember LEDS will blow if you connect them straight to 12 volts.
They need a resistor in the wire. 470 ohms is about right.

Ask in an electronics shop about LEDS etc. and they will help, and they know what a 470 ohm resistor is....

There are some LED types that have the resistor built in.

When he says electronics shop, he doesn't mean Maplins. Well, not my local one at least wink

Maplins used to be good (or my local one at least), but I left UK 20 years ago, and things change....
