Cossie Front Brake Upgrade

Just purchased a pair of escort cossie calipers (year unknown) intending to do front upgrade.
I know 887/888's are the proven fit, but mine are stamped cn27/cn28. They look same as 887/888's but could someone please confirm if i have made a poor purchase or if ok if the usual drilling of the hub and fettling of the carrier is required.
Intend to go 283mm rotors and would like to know before i spend any more.
