I use the word cool quite loosely here

So I've booked my wedding, so now have 10 months (possibly longer if we borrow) of saving

Currently have a staff scheme New 8V Audi A3 Sportback SLine, but that's only on a 6 month lease, so when that goes back, I'm thinking of something for £250 just to see me through for 6 or so months

I saw a Seicento Sporting in yellow tonight, and thought that's quite a funky little car to run for 6-8 months - had a look on the bay, and I reckon £250 will sort me one with abit of t&t

Whilst I've been waiting for new car deliveries previously, I've bought basically the cheapest car available on eBay, so I've had a Civic, a Ka and a 1.0 Citroen AX, but wondered is there anything that is classed as 'cool' but cheap - maybe an MG ZR if I look in the right places?

Doubt it... my Nissan Sunny was £295

Maybe: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-MERCEDES-C200-CLASS...

That's about it really... unless a 1.2 Punto is cool?

Running and driveable, not a chance.

If its "cool" why would you sell it for £250?

Can probably rent something for a day or two.

Alternatively, forget cool and look for working and legal. Most cars scrap for £150 ffs!

Most cars for £250 are going to be a false economy, especially over 6-8 months - chances are it's going to need money spending on it.

Better off spending around £1000, loads of good and reliable cars for that money.

My mgf cost me 380 tax and test until march and may. Not cool, but as cheap as it gets for something different. Ony 50k and no rust. A few issues but nothing major.

I bought a sciecento for 400 quid with full mot and 6 months tax. It lasted a year. I would say 400 is minimum for a car.

However as long as it starts, stops and steers as it should (with 6-8 months meat left in the break pads and tyres)....and no nasty noises from the suspension, or exhaust hanging off - grab whatever catches your eye. if something breaks and it will cost more than £250 to repair or replace - buy another!!! 6-8 months soon passes - sell for what you paid for it....or scrap it for £150 - £250 depending on weight of car - running costs neglible!!!

an old Saab 900/9000. Maybe not on Ph, but I usually find the odd one in local listings. Usually an old duffer whose owned it since new and is giving up driving. Aside from numerous bumper scuffs and dings it will drive fine and be very reliable. It wont be a Turbo for this money, but a nice old barge of a 16v should be achievable. They dont come along all the time, but are out there if you scour the well heeled areas

A few of my mates have been picking up e36 bmws around that price for a bit of winter fun, if they end up with the wheels folded up underneath or a rattled engine they're still worth a few quid in scrap.

Base model 205. I picked one up for 300 once and it was great in the winter with its skinny tyres. Good fun to drive.

Maybe a base model mk2 golf.

That's a better word - different

I'm in the trade, so get access to part exes and stuff, I realise in the everyday world of eBay etc cars don't sell cheap, but in the part ex world, you'd be surprised what people do!
