Andy - ever looked at an Endurance length race format ? (guess it would prove difficult for the number of series you run).
A few years ago I tried to persuade the CSCC Committee that we should run an annual 6 hour inter series race for our members but I failed to win the debate. It was felt that for most club level cars and club level budgets it just wasn't doable for our members. The idea morphed into the event that the 360 Motor Racing Club now run once a year. The first few years were at Snetterton but last year the event moved to Donington, where it will be in 2014. I still think its a good concept and deserves support.
It really does depend what time you are practicing and racing as this dictates the sign on and scrutineering times. If you are first race or second race of the day it will be an early start in order to get everyone through and all races in. Each series takes its turn at being the first race of the day or the last race etc.

The timetable is usually sent out with the entry list, tickets and final instructions about 2 weeks before the event.
I think not, it's nearer to a week minus or so. And the scrutineers and office staff are always bright eyed and bushy tailed from 0730 hrs at every meeting. The early start is not really an issue, it's part of all racing. Long days but enjoyable.wadsapple said:

Am i reading the regs right that, after racing with the CSCC twice before during any season, the driver is eligable to race at SPA or the RING in any season thereafter.
As I understand it ( it would be worth you checking with the CSCC office) a driver Is eligible for an INVITE to race at Spa (we don't organise a race at the 'Ring anymore) as long as they are still members and registered for one of the club's series after racing with us elsewhere at least twice before (not necessarily in the current season). Preference will be given to regular racers where grids may be full, I think.Am i reading the regs right that, after racing with the CSCC twice before during any season, the driver is eligable to race at SPA or the RING in any season thereafter.
Spa weekend clashes with the big AMOC weekend at Brands (45mins Indy sat, 45mins GP sun), otherwise I'd have entered Spa. I won't be doing modern classics again. As seen on that Oulton video, my car was a write-off, and I can't afford that to happen again, so I'm steering clear of it.

Are you steering clear of all racing then? What happened at Oulton was not great but it can happen in any race on any track with pretty much any set of drivers. Very unfortunate for you that your car came out the way it did, but do we not all take that risk when we put our cars on the grid? I am pretty sure you can not blame the cscc - all in my humble opinion of course.Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
