Any advice gratefully received!

On the 30th November I'm planning to drive up from Hertfordshire to Skye for a week of photography.

I've done this journey a few times now, but (apart from one trip in February) it's been Spring or Autumn. The route England side doesn't bother me too much, I'm getting twitchy about going north of Glasgow, Glenn Coe in particular.

Is there anyone close to or on the route that I would take (get to Glasgow....then A82.....then A87....then Skye.....then a single malt or 3) that could give some reassurance? Are the roads kept in good condition in the snow? I will have winter tyres.

One other thing, I shall be doing this on my own, done it before, but not in Winter. Is that a bit silly?

Thanks

It should be ok but if it starts to get real bad we sometimes put the roof back up and in extreme conditions we close the windows too but that's a while away yet
