Hi, I took delivery of new C63 on the 1st September but I am not sure if the TomTom traffic is working as the subscription expiry date alway shows the current day 3 years hence. It is as though it is not activated. Trying to compare it to the traffic shown on my iPhone app it does not match. I hand spoken numerous times to MB but they could not answer the question. Any ideas?

Sorry can't help, but am interested to hear how you add tom tom live services to your command?

Thanks

Tomtom traffic is standard on the new comand online , if it works that is!

Just replaced my Tomtom 1005 Live with a new one because they're offering free map updates for life and three year subscription to HD traffic included in the price. Been as low as £180 recently.

Your MB offering might come with the same offer.

Don't know how your screen works, but the 1005 shows a vertical black line to the right of the screen, representing your selected journey. At the top of that line is an icon showing total delays and individual delays pop up along the line, showing the delay at that point in minutes. The Tomtom lassie should also talk to you...the delay on your route is now ten minutes, you are still on the fastest route...etc.

Be aware that the system sometimes goes down and can remain off for up to 24 hours. When this happens, you get a little icon flying round in circles where that black line should be.

Now this is really interesting ! I've been a happy long term user of tomtom HD traffic but since taking delivery of my C63 in April, grown to hate the TMC based traffic and re routing in Comand. Did you get TT Traffic as standard or did you have to do something to get it enabled ?

It is standard on all new Mercs which have comand online. We also run E300 Hybrid's and they all have it as standard but they all have the same activation problem. MB customer services tell me it "may" work without activation bur they were not sure!! it certainly does not seem to work when compared to my iPhone tom-tom app.

Mine seems to work fine, what issues are you having with it?

It seems to pick up a lot more traffic issues than the previous tmc system ever did.

I was expecting it show the same traffic as my iPhone does but perhaps I was hoping too much as I got caught on the M11 a few weeks ago as the command showed traffic was way behind what my tom-tom app was showing.

Would you mind having a look to see what your activation screen say? Navigation-Traffic-subscription information.

Thanks

I did some googling and it seems this became standard on cars built around summer time this year. Doesn't look like it can be retrofitted as there's an additional 'box' that's installed to make it work. Some kind of collaboration between TomTom, MB and T-Mobile.
