1982 ford capri v6 cosworth project

Hi, only out a few pics of this up earlier and have been ask by a few for more of a build thread so here it is,

Owner from 2009 it was a 2.0 capri cabaret special edition, never let me down used in all weathers and generally for fun

This is pretty much how it got it apart from the wheels and exhausts





Had pleanty of fun



It just lacked power and the noise too me the capri needs so I started a little engine swap but then found a complete capri to speed things up,

Bent chassis, only 500 miles since resto so everything underneath was new





No turning back



Front x member power steering and coil overs on



Engine out, took a couple of hours in total



Axle and fuel tank out



Injection tank and lines in



Axle fitted



Exhausts and back on it wheels



Quick spray up under the bonnet



Engine in



That's as far as I've got, I'm sending it to a capri specialist to Finnish and sort some rust on it, no rush but should have it back for summer,

The red capri, sold for £63 on eBay



Ive got a different interior to fit from a 2.8, it needs a re spray but that can wait until I've got a garage to store her in,

Having had an old Capri racer, with six port heads, Quaife box, LSD etc, I have happy memories of it. The Cosworth version of the V6 is without doubt a very nice little engine, you should have a rather nice car when done. Without doubt a quick Capri is a wonderful driver training tool", especially on track. Well done

Are you keeping it the same colour ? it would make a difference to the more common colours you see on capris, I think it suits.

I want more go from my 2 litre, but don't want to mess with an original car either... decisions decisions

How come the previous owner of the red car managed to total it (and do you need to do anything by way of self-preservation to avoid doing the same)?

I'm keeping it crystal green and keeping the cabaret stripes.

The last owner of the red one just wasn't paying attention and drove into a jeep

I've fitted a caprisport 260 brake set up along with the rear discs should hopefully keep me from wrecking it

Can't wait to drop the clutch

MOT expired 2013. Currently SORNed.
Still registered as a two litre.
