I need to get some replacement external mirrors for my car as nothing seems to be able to keep them in 1 place in the right direction anymore, so thought I'd go with the electric ones. Nobleparts say these are off a Rover 25 but does anyone know if the MG ZR or 45 ones fit straight on as well (slightly diff part #'s)?

Have you looked at the fix for this? There's a detailed sheet produced by the US guys which can't really fail to work. Alternatively some people squeeze a blob of silicon into the bottom under the mirror glass for a permanent fix.

IMHO the motor cycle type units with plastic mirrors give a less than perfect optical view. Your call, of course.

I think the neatest way is to fit the electric Rover type and just click them until they suit you. Don't even bother to wire them up.

I had tried the fix which worked for perhaps a few weeks (bumpy roads where I live!)
Jetstream have my car at the mo and can't get them to stay put hence the electric route.
I had planned to just fix them in place, no wiring but just needed to know if anyone has fitted the ZR and/or 45 mirrors as well as the 25.

just set the mirror's where you want them then run around the glass with a bead of clear silicone , job done !!

I did have them held in place with some old windscreen wipers and glue but couldn't get them to stay in place again after detailing accidentally knocked them out.

I did think about silicon but wanted something a bit better this time!

I actually like the ones on there, carbon ones just seemed too expensive and/or too small.... perhaps they help with high speed aero! smile

I've just picked up some ZR ones so will soon find out!
