Corsa VXR hero
Discussion
On my drive home on Friday evening a Corsa VXR nearly rear ended me off a set of lights, I was in my Clio 172 Cup with my two dogs in the boot.
Said Corsa was clearly keen to show how fast his car was, then undertaking me on a stretch of 40mph DC.
Amusingly there is a lovely (fast) left hander a few hundred yards further up the road, remembering my poor canine companions in the boot I take this corner slower than normal & still leave Corsa man far behind.
Imagine my delight when the traffic lights we reach are red & he decides to pull up alongside me. Down comes his passenger window so I wind mine down & exchange pleasantries, not what he was expecting I don't think, he then tells me my car isn't very quick! When I pointed out that it destroyed him in the bend his girlfriend jumped to his defence (bless!) & he invited me to a traffic light Grand Prix. Strangely I let him (& the Audi now glued to his rear bumper) get on with it & pootled off. The main surprise was he wasn't a young lad, must have been mid 30's at a guess, maybe he thought a 10yr old 172 would have been driven by a yoof, not a 44yr old!
Anyway, cool story bra or something like that

Well, he got a reaction out of you. You've got to give him that.
My favourite NSFW Limmy sketch that I post quite often.

Why did you get involved? Sounds like he was trying to show off his new car to his GF. Then he followed you so he could wind you up at the next traffic lights and get you to race him, because he though he could beat you. Clearly he has a small brain and/or penis.
Never rose to his initial boy racer tactics, even let him undertake me. When I reached the bend I couldn't take it that slowly, I would have died of boredom

At the lights I figured winding my window down & talking to him would A. amuse me and B. May diffuse the situation if he was going to get aggressive
Result, it seemed to do both

Better off letting these people get on with it. I had a bit of a frightening experience once when a similar lad showing off to a blonde bit of fluff in the passenger seat of a brand-new VW Polo base-spec model.
I'm the first to admit I don't have a fast car, but when this loon overtook me in a 30 limit when there were parked cars either side of me I saw red. I flashed my lights at him and followed at a safe distance (within speed limit). At the next bit of NSL I caught him up - I know I wasn't going quickly because I had my family in the car - nevertheless the little tw*t tried to make me crash into the back of him. There was nothing but straight road ahead and I easily stopped in time, albeit abruptly. I then followed at twice the distance, cautiously. Unfortunately he was going along the same route I was - if there was an alternative I would have gone around. On a long, straight NSL I watched what I thought was about to be a horrific accident; he overtook a Clio on the wrong side of the road narrowly missing something coming the other way.
He clearly upset the bloke in the Clio as well as there was a shouting match at the next roundabout, Clio man was going to get out of his car but the little Polo sped off.
I reported to the non-emergency Police but a full statement was never taken.
Upshot is, you'll get tw*ts in all manner of cars - they don't have to be particularly PH-worthy. I just have to learn not to bother expressing my anger in future as it only exacerbates things...
