Just reported this in the site car park left unattended for at least 30 minutes. Not only are there no axle stands or other means of support, but there may be a tiny error with the scissor jack fitment to the vehicle!!!!! Someone has now turned up with a large block of wood to make it safe...

nice......................the person involved may well be and appears to be a numpty but, on a side note do you carry axle stands everywhere your go? sometimes needs must, no doubt someone will return with a inflated wheel.

It`s a bit stupid and the jack is clearly upside down but no-one would leave it like that for any serious length of time...surely.

Not really posing a huge danger unless the carpark is frequented by children who may mess about with it, no sane person is going to stick part of their anatomy under that.

Agree totally with the spare wheel comment.

True, but the jack is upside down...

rofl @ jack orientation but re: axle stands - who the hell carries them in case they get a puncture? (apart from me, because my girlfriend moans about them being in the house!)

Thanks for the comments. There are no kids around as it is a construction site, but more worried about the damage to the vehicle if it should drop.

What annoyed me was one of our vehicles had a puncture a few weeks back and was left correctly supported on 2 axle stands by the repair guys and that was reported as an 'unsafe act' by the very same company that have just left one of their own vehicles as shown!

Regarding axle stands, they are freely available to borrow from the stores on what is an extremely large construction site. All the site operatives know that virtually all the gear they need will be available here.

Epic fail on the jack orientation.

But see no major problem leaving it like that, while you get a tyre repaired.
