Is it possible to increase the power output of the 5ltr griffth motor without spending thousands on major engine mods?

No.

Steve

Cheapest option is a Mark Adams rechip on a rolling road. Might give a couple of extra BHP. That costs around 750. beyound that you are into this cost plus induction mods etc etc etc.

Go to www.t-v-r-services.co.uk and look at the engine mods section. That will give you some idea of what is needed.

My Griff 500 is a genuine 300 bhp but cost the previous owner nearly 4 grand to modify the cam, induction and injection.

Out of interest, should you have the Mark Adams
re-chip, any idea how badly this affects your insurance premium, as you would have to declare you vehicle as being modifed.

With Sunninghill - not at all, with other insurers, they might not even touch you....At least in my case.

Having supplied upgrades for 5 yrs, have rarely had a problem with insurers. The trick is to be totally honest, get the supplier to provide written info to pass on to insurer before you proceed.
