I found myself angry yesterday that the rain might have been cleaning my daily stter. A trip home via a very wet and muddy car park soon restored the balance and I was happy again.

There's some fantastic joys in owning a daily car, not caring about it is right at the top of the pile. Others include:

- crashing into other friends snotters, much hilarity ensues.
- private land off-road rallies with other dailies.
- Using it to do tip runs, then leaving the rear seats folded down until you next need to throw people in the back
- loading as many people as you can in it after a days shooting (all very muddy)
- £15 being able to fix almost anything

I've been trying to replace is for over a year (it's a KA) and I can't find anything else I'd love as much.

Anyone treat their daily worse?

The only thing I like is that I can leave it anywhere, anytime without ever thinking about it or worrying something will happen to it.

I polished my snotter up so that the paint looks brand new, filled in all the scratches with new paint and waxed it a bazillion times. It looks fantastic.

Am I doing it right?

No, if you start caring about your daily it's a VERY slippery slope.

Pretty sure the only thing holding mine together now is the dirt.

Someone scraped the corner of mine in a car park. All I can think is, "Thank fk I didn't buy a decent car!"

Same as the OP and although I don't treat it to quite as much rough and tumble, it only ever gets chucked through the EU hand car wash a few times a year, I will happily leave it anywhere without fear of...well anything, it can double as a small van when required but I have a very deep respect / love for the old girl and it'll be a sad day when we have to part ways...by whatever means...
