Tyres...Tires...mmmm...what size?

Hello mates...As I have posted before, I have 3 different brands and 4 different types. So, out of safety and the fact I actually care about the tires on the car, I am looking for which size.

Stock is 205-60-15. Looking at other sizes available, I see the 225-50-15 is the same diameter. What do you all think? As for pricing goes, the wider tyre is about 10 or so more.

I have 205/60/15 on the front and 225/60/15 on the rear with 25mm spacers all round, this makes the tyres really fill the arches, without fouling the bodywork.
Any excuse to post a piccy.
Does give precious fractional extra ground clearance.

S2...doesn't the 225/60 on the rear throw the speedo off a bit? That's my main reason of going with 225/50.

According to the two sat navs I have tried and a speed trap sign, its spot on, probably because speedos are usually calibrated to read faster than actual speed. Obviously this is my experience and it would be best to check your own.

Actually, when turning very sharp I have a bit of a scrap from the tyre hitting the inner wing.

Not quite...

This might help? tyre size calculator

225/55 R15 is the same size as 205/60 R15.
225/50 R15 is nearly an inch smaller in diameter.
225/60 R15 is nearly an inch larger in diameter.

Good idea to buy them before you ship - there are hardly any choices for the stock size on the other side of the pond. In fact, there is only one V-rated tyre that I know of - Goodyear Eagle GT. They aren't bad though, and go for about $80 a piece. New tyres mean one less problem for the dept of agriculture to fuss about when they look for mud under the car.

It has been a bit since I have looked at them and I should have reviewed the search. Well...good news is that it will be hard for me to speed Bad new is...the car will show more miles then what it actually has .

I reckon he was looking for the car that was parked next to mine that left the oil drips on his nice clean pavement... !!!
It wasn't me it was a ropey Vauxhall Cavalier convertible.
Oh and my car is green, Land Rover Epsom Green Pearlescent Metallic. Fantastic range of shades as it catches the light/shade.
