Evening all, my 987 Boxster S has developed a crack in the heated windscreen from the top of the screen behind the mirror to just below the mirror and will no doubt continue to spread down and across every time I hit a bump or pot hole.
My question is as it's a heated windscreen and therefore a lot more expensive than an ordinary screen, will it be covered on my windscreen cover so they replace like for like?
Also does the screen have to be replaced by OPC in order to maintain my OPC Warranty and is the windscreen tinted at all, it doesn't appear to be. Thanks in advance.

It won't be heated, it wasn't an option.

It's possible to buy a heated screen for a 986 but not a 987 AFAIK, but it's an aftermarket product.

OPC warranty? Heated windscreen... hmmm

AFAIK, there's a 986 heated (not standard) but no 987 available as it stands.

As already pointed out, the screen will have radio diversity and/or GPS/TV antennae.

Thanks chaps appreciate the replys. Previous owner told me it was heated screen element, but it's obviously the radio antenna, very clever all this modern technology isn't it.....
So applying the same question, presumably the replacement screen should come with a built in antenna as well, which
I should be covered with my windscreen insurance.

As long as you have glass cover, yes, you're OK. A call to your insurer usually gets diverted to their nominated supplier.

Ordering the glass from OPC will get you an identical screen. Glass from anywhere else which doesn't show a Porsche emblem is not an original with the logo 'not stamped on' or even removed.
