Currently own a 320d M Sport Coupe (Manual) and decided now I want something a bit more powerful and automatic. I'm not sure I can justify spending an extra 10k for the 430D compared to the 330D where there are minimal differences.

I've found a decent deal on a 330D with all bells and whistles and low mileage etc. but I am worried that with the line being replaced by the 4, it is going to drop value even quicker than it already would. Another part of me says there will always be people that want to buy the 3 series regardless, but won't pay as much in 3 or 4 years.

Decisions, decisions. Any thoughts guys?

Have you considered a forthcoming 2-series too ? I sat in a 4-series and the difference in interior space compared to a 1-series hatch felt insignificant. The difference in price on the other hand is pretty significant compared to a 2-series even though final pricing is not quite ready. Just a thought as you might be able to buy more power/performance for your money.

I did have a gander but it just looks too small for me, and I'd like to keep my next car in time for kids potentially too, so don't think it'd be a good option.

Fair enough. Have another gander when it's in the showroom, you might be surprised how much the platform has grown in comparison to the old 1-series Coupe (in which I comfortably fit 2 teenagers and a mum incidentally, lol).

I was completely underwhelmed by the 4 series. Exterior was not that appealing in M Sport spec and the interior was no bigger than my old 1 series, in fact I d go as far as saying there was more space in the rear in the 1 series. Went for the 5 series instead.
