As my other post regarding TDL RTL3 and KEF IQ5 swappage well i have been having a closer look and all 4 woofers have 6 screws on them but after searching google images they should only be 4!.
Also the tweeters are not original and below the bottom woofer there is a strange wood insert as oposed the just a flat panel!the speakers still sound awesome but as Toyah Wilcox onne said "its a mystery".
Could anyone with more knowledge please help me out.

RTL1s, RTL2s and RTL3s were built for TDL by R E Ingham and Co at one of Ingham's factories based at Farnham just outside Knaresborough in North Yorkshire. The drive units all came from Peerless (India) and the crossovers were assembled by Ingham at another factory in Bradford. Its 16 or 17 years ago now but I'm sure that none of the RTLs had a 6 screw driver basket so if the speakers you have do not have a pressed steel basket with 4 screws as per this link http://culture.motiontopic.net/454308321493-tdl-el... then I doubt they are original.
From memory there were 3 versions of the RTL3 produced. Search google images for RTL3 and you'll see each of the following.
Version 1 had a plinth which was smaller in area than the cabinet base, it also had rectangular shaped port foams.
Version 2 had a plinth which was larger in area than the cabinet base to improve stability, it used irregular shaped port foams but I'm sure it used the same driver and crossover complement as version 1
Version 3 was the SE which used gold coloured screws and iirc some very minor changes to some of the crossovers component values.

I did a bit more digging online and the only version that looks the same are the RTL G30's which are the same dimensions but with bigger bass drives and tweeters,i can't see a lot of reviews regarding the G30's only RTL3's?.
Thanks for all the help.
