Pleasure Flights in Bedfordshire, any recommendations?

I am trying to find a place in the Bedfordshire area that does pleasure flights (aircraft or helicopter). It's for my 8 year old son.
I've asked about it to Cranfield & Henslow but they can only offer actual flying lessons (this might be a bit of a challenge for him until he is a little older). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When would it be for?

Shuttleworth flying days often have flights in a tiger moth going for sale.

Bedford river festival usually has helicopter pleasure rides.

Though your best bet is to go to the tourist information centre and ask there.

You would be best to check out the operators at a big GA centre such as Cranfield or Sywell. Anyone doing flight training should be able to do pleasure flights.

Personally, I'd recommend a helicopter as the experience and visual enjoyment is so much greater.

However, they are about twice the price (but worth it), and to get the maximum benefit make sure it's a nice day, with light winds and a really friendly and informative pilot.

An R44 is probably going to be the best value ( but will carry 3 px - non-too big though).

PS Heliair operate out of Silverstone and may also be worth talking to. You'll get a great view of the circuit.

Another option is the DH Rapide just east of you at Duxford. It does Cambridge and London tours.

Not too spendy, but if you're feeling flush, you can book a flight to fly around the skies alongside a Spitfire.

For an 8yr old lad, after that, the museum itself is probably an anti-climax.

The Pilot Centre at Denham will take him up.

Just at the end on the M40.
